We started a bible study in early October. This has been a great time to reconnect, to study the word and to worship our God.
As we started meeting with a dinner at 6:30 and then the actual study at 7:30. I know some people can’t come as early, so we’ve been holding out until 7:30, and I know some people can’t stay late, so we try to end by 9-9:30.
In any case, hymns have been the taste of late, my new favorite is My Jesus I love thee. A hauntingly sweet song to my savior.
My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

In our actual studying time, we’ve been sharing sunday sermons, quick devotionals and a study of the book of Proverbs.
Last night was about the heart. This is the DEEP matters, our DEEP desires. Last week was on fear, who do you fear? The LORD or man? This actually led to great discussion and a great drawing of deep waters from us.
Proverbs 20:5 The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.
And last week, Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
It takes a man that fears the Lord to draw out deep waters… because those deep waters are those desires that the Lord put there. It was a great connection and I prayed that we would be people of understanding to help draw those waters out from each other.
Thank you Jesus. I love you.
