Remembering the death

Father into your hands I commit my spirit. Luke 23:46

All the events leading up to Jesus crucifixion and burial was one of denial, betrayal, torture, shame… Jesus died for the sins of those who laughed at him, taunted him and rejected him.
Man, I do not know him… Prophesy! Who hit you?… He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God… If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself…

Even in the midst of the worst taunting, the pouring of God’s wrath on the sins of the world… All to redeem God’s people to himself. Jesus took the punishment, took the shame, took the infinite wrath of a HOLY GOD to make us right with the Father.

Thank you Jesus for this great sacrifice, for this great rescue. Thank you our true Elder brother. Thank you… lover of my soul.

We love you.

300. No more. No less.

Was encouraged by Judges 7 where Gideon was told by God that he had too many people.

2 The LORD said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ 3Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.’” Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.

God continued to dwindle the army down until Gideon was left with 300 men (v.6-8). This was 300 men to fight the Midianites and the rest. Because God wanted ALL the glory and so the Israelites would not boast in themselves.

I know a lot of times we are depressed because of lack of numbers, but in the end, only ONE really matters. Whether God is with us or not. It wasn’t the 300 that won the battle, it was the one whom fought for the 300.

That is FAITH. Our faith is not the strength of our belief, but the ONE in WHOM we believe. To all the naysayers out there who think we are too small, we are insignificant, we are weak… to them, I reply… do not look at us because we are small, because it isn’t us who will win this, but the ONE in whom we trust.

We trust in JESUS.
